The Georgetown STARTALK-TECH program includes three parts:
Pre-Program (June 26 - July 29 2024 | 30 hours, virtual/asynchronous)
Pre-program activities will be hosted online and consist of three asynchronous modules addressing Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and educational technology. Discussions, reflection and tailored feedback will be key components of this program as participants apply these learnings to their individual teaching contexts.
Online Summer Workshop (August 5 - 9, 2024 | 60 hours), virtual/synchronous)
The summer workshop will run for one week (Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day) in real time, online. An Orientation (5 hours) and Conclusion (5 hours) will take place online one to two weeks prior to and following the main summer workshop.
The workshop will consist of several modules that guide participants through actionable steps to integrating technology into their curriculums. Assignments and lessons will address choosing the best technological tools, implementing them into lesson plans and steps for evaluation.
At the end of the workshop participants will leave with a sound technology-assisted lesson plan, amended through feedback by experts in the field.
Post-Program (August - December 2024 | 30 hours, virtual/asynchronous)
Post program activities will provide participants with the opportunity to reflect on their experience and apply the workshop’s concepts to their personal pedagogies.
